What I Learned from Watching 10 Webinars/Master Classes in 2 Weeks

Part1

My Top Takeaways and easily digestible nuggets of practical IDEAS, knowledge, insights, and wisdom for the NOW…

As an entrepreneur and a marketer, I realize the connection between studying advertising, marketing, and sales and becoming a self-made millionaire. (I believe Brian Tracy also spoke about this link in one of his books). While analyzing my Q1 and Q2, I took stock and considered my next move with both my business and my career. I sensed and intuited that I needed to refine either my approach, methodology, practice, and/or level up in a skillset. As I didn’t complete my MBA, I knew I needed some more solid business self-education, (This of course would be in addition to my rigorous personal and professional development program/plan.) A book I read (and should re-read, analyze, and study is The E Myth Revisited- Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work and What to Do About It) by Michael E. Gerber.

This prompted me to rather than skip a lot of the YouTube Ads which always popped up and interrupted my audiobook or educational video watching to actually register and watch the webinars.

For some of them the ad copy was compelling, the success stories nearly overwhelming, and the promise of being able to 10x my business and skyrocket my results and revenue well were very seductive and provocative.

I also decided to “funnel hack” them and paid very close attention to each advertiser’s creative, headline, copywriting, colors, fonts, and layouts in their funnels and registration pages. What calls to action did they use? What hook captivated me while I was preparing breakfast and caused me to run over and click the ad?

What was their story, and finally their offer? (Russell Brunson Co-Founder of ClickFunnels and a brilliant marketer taught me that framework and strategy).

So let’s begin- drumroll please and the saxophone player bellowing gently in the background to create the best ambiance...

Gretta Van Riel and Foundr.com

Gretta’s genius resides in the area of eCommerce and brand building.

One day while she was perusing Pinterest, she spotted a trend. Then she started posting photos showing that trend on Instagram. A tactic that she used actually quite a strategic and well-calculated maneuver was to build up her audience prior to launching her products. Our takeaway: tap into an existing audience and grow your email list. Her product was a “Health Detox” — specifically “Detox Water”.

Validation is an important step in the journey of an entrepreneur and it really should not be skipped over or minimized. Ensure that your target audience truly resonates with your product idea.

This is an interesting way to think: “Profit margin is your mistakes margin.”

We have all heard probably by now how it is vital to focus and channel energy, time, resources, etc, into building a brand. She advocates for envisioning, conceptualizing, and creating your very own unique product and seeking a local manufacturer after you research and develop the prototype. Reflect on how you are able to showcase your product through your own interpretation or spin on it.

She deploys in her bag of tactics scarcity as a pillar in her overall marketing strategy. Be wise and don’t put all your prototypes in one manufacturer’s facility. Seek another backup manufacturer. Be mindful not to scale too quickly. Steady growth wins the race.

How do you scale your reach? Contact and recruit Influencers to put your products and brand in front of other audiences. This way you maximize your efforts, visibility, and profitability.

Another gain, you amplify brand awareness and content magically appears as a result of pseudo- “partnering” with Influencers. She recommends reaching out to Micro-Influencers (those who have between 5,000 to 50,000 followers on Instagram and/or YouTube).

For example, if you communicate with “Macro-Influencers”, you could invest $100-$500 for a post from the Influencer. The next best step is to set up a system (Successful enterprises are built upon and run on/by systems). One part of this system includes discount code tracking.

Another Pro- tip focuses on strategic thinking, having an “all-in” attitude, and laser targeting…

For peak effectiveness with Influencer Marketing leverage product reviews, track sales, use coupons and or discount codes/special offers, etc., and double down on the winners.

Create your ideal customer avatar and buyer persona. Ask yourself prior to product launch, do my brand and my product(s) speak to the buyer persona? How does my product communicate to my audience and how do they receive it? It is also key to be consistent with your customer service.

Periodically review your company or store, identify any faults in operations or other departments, seek opportunities to improve your store, your brand, and actually get excited about it because even micro-improvements lead to growth.

Next, brainstorm all of the myriad ways that you and your team can position your product and/or service and stand out in the crowded marketplace.

This is precisely what I have been working on with my online store Life Guidance Boutique and my brand Life Guidance Angel. Our unique selling position and value (USP) involves offering motivational and positivity products and messaging coupled with community service/charitable contributions and encouraging Affiliate Angels to use their skills, expertise, talents, and abilities to bring more kindness into the world and perform good deeds in their local communities while using their imagination.

At least this is my intention, objective, and I am actively planting the seeds for this and other related initiatives to sprout.

You want your audience and followers- aka customers and clients to be able to both feel and perceive how your brand and company add value to the market and to them personally.

Well, that about wraps it up for now…Be on the lookout for Part 2 of this blog series… In part 2 I will cover YouTube Ads and this new opportunity I discovered and have decided to pursue…
